Instructions for the Beta testers of the Gospel of Madden V.2 Slider Set

The following are things that I want feedback on:

1) Total # of plays after a complete game with these exact sliders

2) Track the mix of runs and passes used by the CPU

3) Track penalties

4) Track cheese fumbles..... Memo to all MENSAS: Carrying the rock only with one hand and not "wrapping up" when about to get popped, or having a QB get creamed by a linebacker at full speed, or getting blindsided as a runner, DO NOT CONSTITUTE as cheese fumbles.... These type of fumbles happen EVERY SUNDAY, watch an NFL game if you must.... IF you are getting to many fumbles, you are not properly carrying the damn rock! I average 1 maybe two fumbles a game with these settings.... HOWEVER, if I am careless, I lose the rock, plain and simple.... With these sliders, YOU ARE REWARDED if you know how to plaster the runner with the ball properly

5) Track completion rates for ELITE QB's vs. MEDIOCRE QB's.... And for RB's, track their YPC and total number of carries....

6) Make sure that "arm tackles" do not bring down the ball carrier, and a BEAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSST ball carrier better be brought down by a posse' and not some scrawny CB using a hand tackle to the thigh....

7) BIG HITS better cause drops or fumbles, 'enuff said

8) Track how often the CPU runnin' game busts a nut on you

9) Track total number of cheese interceptions .... Bad decisions or pressure throws that turn into INT's are not cheese

10) Track the length of punts by boomers like Lechler of the 'Faiders, and the length and accuracy by elite mules like Gostkowski of the Pats....


Always play at least 4 COMPLETE games, and ALWAYS HAVE A NOTEPAD BY YOUR SIDE TO JOT DOWN "ODDITIES" THAT SEEM TO RECUR MORE OFTEN THAN NOT, or SIMPLY JOT DOWN YOUR IDEAS, THOUGHTS, OR SIMPLY A NEW COCKTAIL DRINK YOU WOULD LIKE TO SHARE....

NOTES....

- Each team recorded 4 sacks

- I threw 5 picks, all bad decisions

- Disgusted with myself for such ineffectiveness on offense (I'm going to chalk it up to being 12:30 and I'm tired).

- Played two full games and the CPU has yet to score an offensive TD......

- Not sure NFL punt averages, but tonight ATL (52.2) and DEN (49.5) seem a bit high

- Two games in a row, neither team able to run the ball

- I think taking clock down to 12 is a bit too low. I don't really feel like I have enough time to look over defense and call my hot routes, also, 118 plays is too low isn't it?

Will play more tomorrow . . .

Recommendations: Set clock to 13 secs, it's ok... If you factor in the punts and sacks, you are right at the NFL average for plays in a game....

Curious to know how YOU are running the ball? Are you trying to scamper to the outside always? Do you run inside the tackles? Do you know how to do a one-cut style of running? I say this because I have NO problem running... Scampers around the outside are more difficult, draws are OK in the right setting, but runnin' between the tackles is where I pay my bills...

Punting may be a tad bit high...Will see what other Maddenites experiences are... Keep in mind that if your punter is a boomer, then 49+ yd averages is desirable...

Are you typically awesome on "D"? These sliders initially were with a decent "D" (da 'Faiders) that have a crappy secondary.... I am in the lab right now with a better "D" so potentially I may have tuned M13 in such fashion that the "D" may be unrealistically good .... Hard to believe that the CPU has not scored a touchdown on you yet.... Thank god I have never come across you playing online....Sheeeeesh....

Alright this felt like a very different game to me(in the good way)

I basically couldnt get them off the field, so i wouldnt be too concerned about the number of times they ran the ball. Id attribute that to my inability to stop them or sustain a drive on offense. They were 8-17 on 3rd Down Conv. While I was an abysmal 2-11 on 3rd Down Conv. This game played beautifully in my opinion. The Steelers were missing key players Lamar Woodley, Polamalu and Worilds, but still managed to shut me down on offense. I think it helps that i try to use Cassel as if he is Flacco and can make ALL the throws. Guess ive gotta break that bad habit...My adjustment of the CPU PASS BLOCK to 35 had me pick up 3 sacks. The Steelers also got to me 3 times! Im gonna lower the USER INT to maybe 45 and this set should be perfect!

Thanks bro, that puummmmmmppppps me up.... I have had similar games to the one that you have just described.... This SOB is now VERY enjoyable for me.... Much like you, I see things that NO OTHER SLIDER set has provided to me... Unique realistic plays, for example fake punts for first downs against me, blocked field goals against me, come from behind wins against me by Roethlisberger, Eli, Brady, even RG III in a memorable classic where I lost on a blocked field goal by the 'Skins against me.... I had just popped RG III for a fumble on my 38, and my LB recovered it....Skins were driving for a go ahead touchdown with about two minutes and change left... After fumble, I drove it to their 24, where their defense made some outstanding pass deflections and forced me to kick a field goal.... Janikowski came in for a chip shot (for him of course!) and the beeeeatch got blocked!!! Skins recover... RGIII goes right back to scrambling and passing for first downs....Finally stop them at about my 26, I am up by 5 points with 33 seconds left on the clock, and NO TIMEOUTS for the Skins.... They call a draw on 2nd and long, and I stuff it like a BEEEEEEEAAAAAAAST and pounded Morris into the ground, RGIII hurries the offense to the line and spikes the rock... 4th down 14 with about 22 seconds left.... Skins go for it, I BLITZ the rookie, pop him on his thigh, shakes my a.ss off, scrambles and hits Garcon in the corner, throwing a perfect arc over my CB for the winning score.... I got the kickoff, was called for holding on the return, and threw a hail mary that got picked...Game over, fail.

Dude, intense.

No I try to run the ball inside most of the time. Playing with the Falcons, Turner isn't the quickest back, so I generally stay inside. Draw plays are probably where I have most success.

As for my defense, in both games it seems to have been, "bend but don't break", as the CPU was able to (somewhat) move the ball on me, but once inside about the 35, it's like play calling and QB decision making went into the toilet. Just something I've noticed, I've got to work today (unfortunately), but will play at least one game this afternoon/evening and report back. Thanks again for the hard work, this set is fantastic.
