Best sliders for Madden this year. I'm getting realistic stats, gameplay, and scores.

Re: Tamburo22's Equal Based Sliders

Hey, thought I'd give an update. When I first started using these sliders, they worked well and games were tight. Now in my second season my players are better, and more importantly, I'm better. Through the preseason I was throwing 300+ yards in 3 quarters with my rookie 67 QB. I can easily put up 40+ points per game and I can score on every drive if I want (that's just broken run blocking, but still lol).

So, I checked out Larry's sliders. His were kinda similar, but penalties are quite different. I tried them out to see what I liked from there, and it was much harder, but too much so for me.

So, I just went back and used yours as a base and made these changes:

(Both)Pass Defense Reaction Time: 60
CPU Pass Blocking: 10
CPU Run Blocking: 6
CPU Tackling: 50
Offside: 100
False Start: 25
Holding: 25
Face Mask: 0
DPI: 0
OPI: 100
PCI: 0
Clipping: 40
Int. Grounding: 100
Roughing Kicking: 0
Threshold: 50

My last game had these stats:

Me - 134 Yards, 2 TD, 1 INT, 14/34 (41%)
CPU - 202 Yards, 1 TD, 1 INT, 24/38 (63%)

The CPU can pass fine still, so I just suck with these settings. I did throw a lot of big misses because I was rolling out and hadn't planted my feet.

Me - 29 ATT, 166 Rushing, 2 TD, 1 Fumble
CPU - 25 ATT, 91 Rushing

Me - 21:39 - 38 points
CPU - 34:21 - 17 points

I did get tackled behind the line a couple times or get 1-3 yard gains. But I also broke out on a couple 20 yard runs. CPU rush game is still weaker than I'd like to see.

Those are ok stats, but kick returns were way too easy for me. I had 220 KR and 66 PR.

Do you have any input on what I could do to level this off? I'm going to try a really high CPU tackling and a higher threshold again. I'm just so confused why it got so easy after the first season lol.

i think what people need to take account of is how you play. you might be a terrible playcaller. you might not know true football. you might not be able to handle the stick. what ive noticed, especially online, a majority of people cant play good. if thats you then you will never enjoy madden.

I don't play with any house rules, probably because Im not as good on the sticks as some others on here.

To answer your question...I feel that running may be a bit too easy, but it feels good. I get runs for short gains, long runs (20+ yds), and 3-6 yarders. Same for defending the run.

Defending the pass is another story. Don't be fooled by QB ACC at 5. I REALLY struggle against the pass. You will see a lot of receivers running free on these settings. I can keep the CPU around 250 yds if I play a lot of nickel, dime, etc type defenses but when I do that I get gashed by the run. Raising Pass Coverage (I'm not a believer that this slider is reversed) should help with that, but honestly I would rather enjoy PLAYING the game instead of looking for the "perfect set". And the CPU will definitely attack downfield. One of the coolest plays I've seen was when I played the Falcons (of course I play as the Saints) and Ryan threw deep to Roddy White, who leapt up between two defenders and came down with the catch. One of the few times I actually did Instant Replay to watch it again...

I'm not a Coach Mode player, so I don't know if any of this will help. Always interested in others' feedback from trying them.

PS. Sorry for the rambling...a couple of Crown and Waters and Thursday Night Football will do that
i cant beat the saints on this game lol

Ha! These settings open up the passing game so I'm sure Brees is tearing you up.

Who were you playing with, and who was it against? That could be the issue right there. Once you start changing a ton of things, it throws everything completely out of whack so I would suggest making small adjustments until you get it to play how you like.

With that being said, here are a few suggestions that I would make (based on my original set, you make a LOT of changes so I wouldn't know where to start )...

To help tone down the passing game, I would look at raising pass coverage (I'm not a believer that it's reversed). Maybe start around 25 and move it about 5 points at a time until it gets more challenging.

Also, raising PCI to around 60-70 should help with overall pursuit so it could help slow down both running game and passing game.

Hope this helps...

Re: Tamburo22's Equal Based Sliders

Thanks, I'll try that out. I haven't seen a low scoring game in a long time, or any game where the CPU had a lead on me. Just need to get the challenge back.

Re: Tamburo22's Equal Based Sliders

Quick question to those that are using these sliders...what are your thoughts on the passing game for user and CPU? I'm thinking about doing some testing to try and make it a little more difficult, but wanted to see what kind of stats others were getting with them? I play as the Saints so I EXPECT to put up 300+ yds/game, which is right where I'm at but I'm last in the league in total defense, mostly due to giving up big chunks of yards through the air.

Also, if anybody has adjusted any of the pass defense categories (Pass Reaction, INT, Pass Coverage), what did you change and what were your results.

I plan on leaving everything else as is if I do make adjustments...
