Actually from what I understand EA paid significantly more than $300 Million. Even if it were $300 Million, they wouldn't make enough to cover it.

Don't be shocked if Madden is 60 or 70 dollars next year. Odds are slim it will be 49.95.

We're talking Units sold (4 million) multipled (X) by the price (50 us dollars projected), correct?


That's 200 Million dollars that Madden made last year. With that reasoning, which I think is correct, Madden will only need approx. one year to break off the 300 million dollar deficit from the NFL licensings deal

don't forget madden will be the only game on the market so many espn gamers will buy it as well

They don't make $50 on every game. It will take more than five years to pay this off at current prices and sales. The next gen games are almost guaranteed to be between 55 and 60 as the rise with every new console.

I do think the game will be $49.99. If it's not, oh well. I'll save the $20 from not buying ESPN so I can afford to spend even more.

madden charged 59.99 already this year to port classic madden games on the disc. this year they will put nfl films stuff and other extras on their 59.99 version and the stripped down 'game only' version at 49.99.

I remember N64 brand new games being 59.99, so actually I think anything is possible.

I don't care how much it costs, I have a modded X-Box and I will be sure to download all EA games. I actually bought ESPN's games cause they were only 20 bucks. EA can burn.
