I just wish this is true... I can't stand those commentaries... they were already repetitive back in 2002..... they hardly changed them.... not only are his commentaries always the same but they also are stupid.

Who is a better commentator that's actually known then John Madden? Pat Summeral perhaps (again?)?

Or how about the ABC gang from FOX, Troy Aikman, Joe Buck, and Chris Collinsworth. I don't mind them.

It's obvious this is on EA's todo list. With the ability to brand their title the only "NFL" title, the drop of the Madden name is obviously on the horizon. His name and the public's familiarity are the only reasons why EA has kept Madden until now (not b/c of, shockingly enough, his commentary).

This is a good thing, fellas. With the removal of Madden, EA has to upgrade their commentary in some way, shape, or form. Even if they leave Al Michaels samples there (even though I pray they scrap him as well), they still need to account for his comments. Personally, I would love to finally see a sports game include Joe Buck, one of my favorite sports announcers.

I've mentioned this fact before. Don't be surprised when the game is called "NFL Football 2006."

Oh, and about the price increase, if EA DOES increase the price, then there most likely won't be a fee for online play. If there isn't, expect a $15 online fee. Either way, they have to pass the expense to the gamer somehow.

SIDE NOTE: Am I the only person who thinks it's going to be weird not saying "Have you played Madden this year?" Pretty soon, it's going to be "Yo, have you played NFL yet?" It's not going to be the same.

Buck and Aikman would be awesome if done correctly.
