the create a shoe feature he is refering to is in nba 2k5. he is not talking about espn's football game, atleast i dont believe he was. so yes that comment was extremely uncalled for and unintelligent.

If EA signed an exclusive licensing deal with Reebok, they have, in effect, potentially killed ESPN's NBA game. How?

Reebok manufactures NBA jerseys. They are the only company allowed to do so, under a deal they signed with the NBA. If the deal EA signed with Reebok is an exclusive agreement, saying EA is the only video game company allowed to put Reebok products in their games, how does Sega's ESPN NBA title plan on putting authentic jersey's in future games?

It's simple.

They won't be able to! They'll have to come up with some sort of generic uniform set that doesn't look anything like the ones they really wear in the NBA. Will the general public (Key words here...GENERAL PUBLIC i.e. NOT OS members) pay for a game that depicts their favorite players on the back of the box wearing generic looking uniforms? Probably not. It will make the game look amatuerish....like it isn't the real thing.

EA might've just basically gotten the exclusive NBA deal without having to fork out NEARLY the amount of cash they would've had to had they signed a deal directly with the NBA.

That's not true. They can put in an NBA jersey; it just won't have the Reebok logo.
