That's what I enjoy about All-Madden online... CPU catching is off by default. The way it should be. If YOU want to beat me, YOU better beat me.
I agree completely. I hate it when I play my friends and they NEVER catch it manually. If you are good at the game, you should be able to manual catch almost everytime. It doesnt take much skill to press a button and let the CPU do the rest of the work.

Actually, in All-Madden the computer will still catch it for you.

I do both also, I don't both on quick slants or screen passes with manual, but I love fighting off the defender by boxin him out on deep balls which i am covered.

You know on deep balls you don't have to press the catch button. All you have to do is get the WR to the circle. It will auto catch for you. You just get the WR there.

I always do manual catch, even its a short and quick route. Every blue moon you might see me CPU catch it. But that is rare.

I've always had the computer catch my passes. I don't know why, that's just the way I've always done it.

Re: Manual vs CPU catching

Haven't played consistently in a couple of years, but I never caught manually unless it looked like my WR would have trouble getting to the ball or there were defenders in better position. When the timing is right and the WR is open, the CPU seemed to do just fine.

Some people feel that the true test of skill is in calling the right plays and making the right reads. Imo that approach is every bit as valid as "manual catching only".

I've always done a combination of both. I prefer to push the catch button at the appropriate time without taking control of the intended reciever (i.e. let the cpu move him to the ball). I'm not saying that this is the best way to do it, but for what it's worth I didn't experience the dropped ball problems in NCAA 05 that so many people have complained about.
