Paying for online play?

Any info on how much it will cost to play Madden online? I think that is the next step.

Re: Paying for online play?

Yeah, unfortunately. I'm glad I've never had the urge to have someone cheat on me in a sports game so I don't play online. I like to have the person in the room so I can smack them for running the same damn play everytime.

I will only pay if they have reintroduced online franchise...

charging money for head to head is braindead

Re: Paying for online play?

No way I would. I enjoy being able to play in my ESPN NFL 2k5 league right now without paying a cent. The games play great, the stat tracking is incredible, but I don't want my enjoyment out of the $$$ to be dependent on my opponents' behavior (not showing up for league games, pulling the plug, etc.).

I'm sorry, EA has the cash to support this...if VC/2k/Sega/ESPN Videogames could do it for free and offer much more in terms of league support, then EA can.

P.S. If EA has to charge people to play online to make up from paying for all the EXCLUSIVE licenses, that's just even more pathetic.

Come on fellas..put your BUSINESS caps on..your cold, shrood businessman hats on. EA knows they are the only NFL game in town. They can charge a kings ransom for online play and change their motto from "It's in the game" to "WHAT ARE YOU GONNA DO ABOUT IT??!!!"

People who frequent sports oriented message boards are more likely to be into online play. This creates a skewed perspective in their minds of how many people actually "need" to play online. I would argue that less than 20% of the people who play the game would even pay $5 a month to deal with all the online B.S., and make no mistake, there WILL be B.S. online. Until glitch ball is all but eliminated,(even most so called "sim" leagues/players use questionable football tactics-its the nature how the game is programmed), online play will continue to be a niche market.

Do this today: Instead of $%*#!@& on a game you're not going to play or movie you're not going to watch, say something good about a piece of media you're excited about.

Do the same thing tomorrow. And the next. Now do it forever.

I'd only pay if the play was cheese free.. Thats not going to happen.. I'm already paying 50.00 for live to get cheated on.. So I should pay EA 5-20 bucks extra to get cheesed more.. No..
