Who is the stronger force? Madden Fans or Star Wars fans?

Madden is a household name to a lot, but there are a lot that aren't honestly not too accepting to that name. Honestly, I could live without. Now, Star Wars on the other hand are clearly appealing to even me. I never really liked it but it honestly attracted me with its storyline. Before, I was one of those kats that you could ask and I surely wouldn't have known the names or a darn person on there. Now, that has changed. Star Wars is greater than many assume. I'm getting a gut feeling that it will take the #1 box office spot of all time over Titanic. Keeping an eye on that. My choice: STAR WARS!!

I'm not talking about money either. I used the money to get at the numbers of fans we are dealing with. 8 Mil copies of madden on 3 consoles and the PC compared to 1 weekend of 108 to almost 109 mil dollars. If those are all adults at 8 bucks a pop, you have more people that went to see Star Wars in its opening weekend than you have people who will buy madden for the entire year. And that's just the opening weekend for star wars. Add up a month and it isn't even close.

He hit the nail on the head. Star Wars, Madden fans cant even be mentioned in the same breath. Yes, there are alot of Madden Fans who are also Star Wars fans, but you have to look at it in percentages. There are more people who are star wars fans than there are people who are Madden fans. EVERYONE watches movies (wether you like star wars and the whole sci fi genre or not). not everyone plays video games..and even THEN, not everyone who plays videogames plays Madden or is even a sports video game fan. Star Wars is a Movie. Madden is a video Game. Movies in general have a larger more broader audience. For every 1 person who bought Madden, there is probably 10000 that will go see Star Wars..and sure some of those people who are seeing Star Wars ALSO are Madden fans but the percentage is vastly different. The % of Madden fans who are Star Wars fans might be around 50-70% becuase the demographic data shows that people who play video games (which Maden is a video game) are usually the same people who will go see a sci fi flick. But like I said... maybe 50-70 percent of all Madden ownerw will go see star wars...probably less than 1% of people who will go see Star Wars will buy Madden or even play video games. With Madden you have a tight enclosed group of people. Demographic is mostly males age 12-35. Star War watchers demographic is MUCH broader. Demographic is just about everyone who goes to see movies.

Then of course you have the Nerd Factor. You have a Madden convention and kids are coming in football jerseys at the MOSt with thier controllers ready to play. Go to a star wars convention and you have fools dressed up in 500 dollar authenitc Darth Vader outfits really believing "the force" exists. Sadly these people probably get laid a whole lot less than the Madden junkies. People obsessed with Madden is one thing. People obsessed with Star Wars tend to let it rule thier lives.
