As much as I hate to say it, I don't think EA will let Madden get away. With all the money they've spent to get the exclusive deal with the NFL, I don't see them slamming one door to open another. With name recognition alone, a generic football game with Madden's name on it would definitely sell regardless of the quality of the game.

The madden name has sold so much for ea. I would not be surprised if they kept going with him. I would rather see him leave.

Honestly, they can call it Pee Wee Herman Football for all I care as long as they change whats IN the game. And Im talking about Madden's tired, played out, re-used, recycled boring commentary. I would rather have generic people we dont know calling the game and have it be more enthusiastic, etc. Someone whos not so big of a name and not so famous that they will sit down for the long periods of time it takes to do all of the playeres name (including new players the game every year in franchise mode), etc. They can keep him on the cover, they can keep calling it Madden, just get him out of the annoucer's chair!

Would be funny if EA loses the Madden name and 2k scoops it up to add to their supposed Legends football game. Could fool a number of people into trying it out.

Yes, and they also spent even more for an ESPN license. It's guaranteed that the NFL game will have ESPN content in the next-gen versions. Madden just doesn't fit in with the ESPN group.

What I would like to see is multiple deals with all the networks broadcasting the NFL. Such as NBC, CBS, Fox crews on Sundays, and the ESPN crews on Sunday (Monday in 2006) nights. Different graphics and presentation depending on who is doing the broadcast. It's a very minor addition, and would probably cost too much, but it would add to the realism.
