I logged onto EASports.com with my username and password, then went to "My Account" and there's a list of stuff that you theoretically could be subscribed to, and lists when it expires...there's a Premium Pass one that says it'll charge your account in about 25 days (or whatever it was)

Sad and classless. Now we know why they wanted your credit card info. I guess EA need money to pay NFL, NCAA, AFL, ESPN, etc.

Not surprised. LOTS of places do stuff like this. Just gotta be smart and remember.

If you ever apply for a mortgage with LendingTree, don't be suprised to see an $80 charge on your credit card/bank statement the next year. They don't tell you, but when applying (and you don't have to accept a mortgage with them) they automatically add you to an $80 subscription service with one of their partners. It's to check your credit history.

It's pretty slick because anyone applying for a mortgage has a whole lot of stuff on their mind at that time - new house, mortgage, bills, moving etc... It's very easy to forget about this subscription - not to mention it's in fine print and a link that sends you to more details when you apply for a mortgage.

Gotta love moves like this. Especially for something that's never used. I would've been better off taking $80 and burning it.
