EA here's another Way "Vision & Percision"

Most people don't like the flashlight, and I truly understand their position. So it got me too thinking, how can it be effectively done without the cone on the field.

First and fore most, the QB's field vision cone should be available on his player card next to his pic, you know how it is for hitters in videogame baseball. This takes the light on the field out of the equation.

We know that at the start of the play, the QB focuses on his primary target indicated by the pulsating button icon. We also know that he can change his focus point pre snap as well.

Why not substitute the flash light with magnified pulsating Icons. The Receiver that the QB is focused on will pulsate more rapidly, get a little bigger than those in the periphery(sp) of his cone, also receivers in the periphery icons will be pulsate slower and shrink based on their proximity to the sweet spot of the cone. and as you scan the field via Rt. analog stick when a receiver is in your sweet spot on the cone, his icon pulsates faster.

I like the fact that if the QB isn't looking in a receivers direction his icon is disabled, I don't like the fact that its only available on the highest difficulties.

While this idea work pretty well while playing on offense, it wouldn't work so well on defense. Remember that part of the rationale is to show the defensive player where the qb is looking. The fact that the cone is so immediately obvious is one of it's strengths.

Thats would'nt work because QBs like McNabb and Manning have visions that cover the whole field. So must of his recievers would also have flashing icons. Correct me if I'm wrong. I think I understood your post but I'm not sure.

It's sort of true, but misleading. What he's refering to is "scramble mode". When you snap the ball, all of the eligible receivers will have icons, even the ones not in the vision cone. Once they have completed their assigned routes, they will go into scramble mode and the icons of the receivers not in the cone will disappear. The rationale is that as long as they're running their assigned routes the qb will have a general idea of where they should be. But once they start improvising, the qb has to actually be looking at them in order to throw them the ball.

True, but I'm thinking if the receiver is in the "sweet spot" of the cone i.e. the center or his focal point will magnify and pulsate faster and those on the periphery, I know EA puts a lot of emphasis withe the cone method but in real life you can't see everything, Manning can be aware of the routes and coverages, but he focuses on what the defense gives him.

I think as an old fart like me, I can see the difference from a stationary Icon and magnified pulsating one.

All true, but its still only available on the highest difficulties. Thats my complaint.
