Trying to stay patient and hold for 360 version

I've thought about the possibility that the Next Gen Madden won't be as good as the current XBOX and PS2 versions but I think those ideas are unfounded. Like posted above, all you have to think about is the PlayStation One version of Madden 2000 compared to the PlayStation 2. I'd say the PS2 version was quite a bit better. Same goes for this next upgrade. It's not like EA is starting from scratch completely. Sure it will likely be a new engine but the developers have made football games before and its not like they will revert back and not have certain things in the game we've become used to. Just my opinion though.

Why hold off? Buy it when it comes out for xbox and when 360 drops, just trade the xbox verson in and pay the rest off. Im going to get it for both. No way I could wait that long.

It would be great if we could import our XBOX Madden Franchise to the XBOX 360 version. It will suck playing 5 seasons and then having to start over again. That said, I'll still buy both versions.

I say hold off...It won't be easy but I'm doing the same. I love NCAA and I have a bunch of RPG's to get through before 360 drops. Plus, I dont want to drop 50 bucks and feel the game hasnt changed too much...Not that I'm saying its going to be like last years. If your on the fence, you should definatly wait until you hear about the game from the people on this board or rent it.

I agree. It's one of the reasons that I'm not going to be buying a 360 this year.

It's wishful thinking at best to think that the Xbox 360 version will not be leaps and bounds better than the Xbox/PS2 version of Madden this year. EA has done nothing but recycle the same engine for the last 5 years . Apparently EA only does a new engine when the new systems launch. You can bet that EA has put a lot of work into the new engine, because it will most likely not be updated until at least 5 years from now...if EA holds true to form.( and they ALWAYS hold true to form) Why would anyone think that EA would unveil a next-gen Madden with a half-assed engine behind it...or an engine that is not currently better than the existing consoles? If the PS3 were coming out first would people be saying that? I doubt it. Xbox 360 is holding the upper hand, and people may want to let go of the old stereotypes because they are being turned upside down with the next generation.
