Why do most people think 360's Madden will be a downgrade in gameplay?

Too true. I for one am very optomistic for the next-gen game because I won't be playing a new 2K football game and I am not purchasing Madden for the current console so all I can do is hope for the best. Can't wait for new info.

Ok, fine. Let's say you are correct and Madden has never been about gameplay.......than what is it about? Don't say graphics because there is no way in hades that it is about that. Player models and smooth textures have never been achieved in the series, ever. I will say this to all the people doubting whether the 360 version will look incredible. Every person who saw the small amount of in game footage at E3 said it looked incredible, like nothing they had ever seen. I seem to think that Pasta padre is a fairly credible guy unless someone can tell me otherwise.

Got a link to the article where you found that info? There has been a team working exclusively on the new Madden engine for a while now...they have'nt been porting the new Madden over to the Xbox 360. But if you've got a link, I would be more than happy to go and read it.

I should have never started this thread, oh well, live and learn. I'm just sick and tired off all of the negativity surrounding Madden and Next Gen. I agree the game won't be perfect, it never is, but they sure are fun to play. I used to look for the flaws in sports games until I realized that is what was ruining the experience for me.

Common sense says they will re-do the engine or improve it a lot (like how they said Live's dribbling will be completely re-done to be realistic) and take advantage of the new technology but this is EA, so if it's mostly the same I won't be that surprised.
