Actually for my fantasy draft chise it may have been on all pro at the time I sim'ed the year....not 100% sure but I can easily sim it on all pro and see.

Regardless of the skill level, I don't see how that should matter when one is simply sim'ing games...has EA mentioned in the past that the actual in-game skill level affects sim'ed stats? If so, that is asinine to do it that way.

As for someone who mentioned the coaching strategy...my strategy before I did that year was 60% pass...I am sure other teams were also janked to the passing side than run.

Even if it was set more to run, nearly half the starting Qbs shouldn't be throwing 20+ INTs in a season.

Here are the stats from the FOFC thread. I think the guy who started this thread did something weird on purpose. If you don't believe the stats posted below, sim a season for yourself.

Dude I did NOTHING weird. I simply picked a team (in my first chise) and let the engine sim the games.

Why would I do something weird and bring it up? I have stated I felt 05's engine was pretty good so why on earth if 06 was fine would i try and make it sound like it wasn't?

As for the stats the guy you quote had...um, 8 guys with 3000+ pass yards with 3 of those barely over? Dude, that is LOW. I have almanacs and NFL stat books from at least the last 6 years and am a stat junky. Want me to see each year's stats and how many guys threw for over 3000 yards each year? Last year I think 16 had 3000+ pass yards.

As for the qb ratings they too are low. 8 guys with over 80 while in the nfl last year there were 18 over 80 and the same trend can be seen in every nfl year. Oh and the passing INts are high. Look at how many guys had 14+ (5 of 10 for those who dont wanna count) ...and that is for the top rated guys. Imagine how many the low rated guys threw! Hell, Mcnabb had 18 in 13 games? He'd easily have had 20 if he played the other 3 games.

Those rushing stats do obviously look better than what i got in that freaky year. Note that in the 4 years of the other chise I did rushing stats werent bad aside from low yards per carry and also Vick.

Receiving stats are fine. They never were a big issue for my seasons.

Tackle stats were fine as were defensive INT stats. I first thought the D-INT stats were high but checked previous nfl years and saw they were pretty realistic.

The sack totals are high in that too many guys have upwards of 15.

I find it funny someone will try and question me because I have simply shown what this game's sim engine does rather than say hey, maybe EA fugged something up....and if I have to go change a bunch of setngs just to get normal stats then that is ******** and is a flaw in the game. I have done over 7 years in my 05 chise and never ocne I did have to go and change any CPU team setting or adjust skill level, quarter length, etc to get the fairly realistic stats I was getting.

I like the on field gameplay thus far and am not trying to say I am outraged about this useless sim engine or anything. I merely brought it up to show that it is in fact screwed and others have easily seen it as well.

Re: Um, I think EA let monkeys handle the sim engine

just simed another year in my fantasy draft chise. i had it on all pro skill level although i am positive the skill level doesnt matter.

qb ratings were a tad better but still not enough guys over 80. yards were a bit better as mroe guys with over 3000 including some in the high 3000s. Only peyton though threw for 4000+.

passing Tds were better.

passing INTs were bad. Better than the screenies I posted but not by much. Think 7 guys with 20 plus including my created guy who is a 99 rated qb. In fact my year was horrible as I had a 70 rating. yep, a 99 rated qb with a 70 rating. Interesting but whatever....could be a fluke. Oh and it isnt that I dont have any Wrs to throw to. I have moss and steve smith on my team and well, my offense is pretty damn stacked.

No crazy 2000+ yard rushers (McGahee was leader with 1900 and change) but I think there were 18 guys with 1500+ inclduing vick who in every year i have simed gets 1300+. Think about both of those....

Still too mnay rush attempts but no crazy 500+ guys....8 with 400+.

Passing attemnpts were high so it is NOT just some coach strategy issue where all teams are biased toward the run.

Yards per carry numebrs are good at the top (maybe a tad too many guys with 4.6 or higher though) but there are way too mnay guys with 1200+ yards with an avg under 4....you wont see this in the real nfl and it has been a constant in the 6 years I have done. Actually, I have a bunch fo guys 4.6 or higher and then guys 4.2 or lower. nobody in between. That is odd but not that bad...still the guys under 4 are bad since they have 1200+ yards and there are 7 of them.

Receiving stats are fine as usual. Tackle stats are fine too. Sacks are not bad this year either as well as defensive INTs.

So again, I sim a year and see funked up pass/rush stats although not as bad as in past years. I'll sim another few years jsut to keep proving what I am seeing and I will try diff skill levels.

from your experience, does the level you play, game sliders and mins per quarter affect the sim stats?

So far I dont see any difference with respect to changing any of that. I will try whatever settings people want me to try and see if it fixes/changes anything. I would LOVE to have the im engine be more realistic as seeing these silly qb/rb stats will take a bit away from my franchise fun factor.

Re: Um, I think EA let monkeys handle the sim engine

Well, the thread title makes it easy to think maybe you just wanted to bash the game. And the stats you posted seemed out of whack with the sim stats others had. So it wasn't a big jump to think maybe you had intentionally done something to produce bad stats to make Madden look bad. God knows there are enough EA bashers out there.

Anyhow, if that wasn't the case, then you have my apologies. At the end of the day, the stats may be off, but not enough to think that EA has hired monkeys.

thanks

when you have time can you do each diffcult level and sim a whole season to see how the sims compare to each level?

i am pretty sure the sliders and mins per quaters dont affect the sim stats at all.

because the gamelog shows the total time of possesion. and it adds up to 60 mins in the past version of madden.
