If you are talking about the offensive line...

The line is NOT going to move Pre-Snap... Would be a penalty. The shift you picked comes after the snap...

yea, kinda like actual line shifts in the NFL, or any other football lever....its just yelled out, but us being gamers cant hear that

Think of it as an audible. You're telling your lineman, instead of blocking the man in directly in front of them, block the man to their right, left, inside or outside. To see it in action, you'll have to watch the replay.
