Great input guys, although I'm a tad bit more confused. From the responses this must be the best Madden game in a few years? Right?

I say Madden as NCAA's gameplay has some serious issues specifically with the passing game.

Madden's gameplay thus far has been damn good in my opinion...just is the stat/sim engine that blows HARD.

There's definitely room for both in my collection, and that's the first time I've ever thought that about EA football. Two quality games this year.

PK,

Very well said. I love the fact that NCAA went the wide open route this year with the impact players. I've been hoping for this for years. CFB is much more "high-octane" and it's nice to see EA take notice.

I remember when 989 first implented the "gamebreaker" idea in their game about 10 years ago. I thought it was a great idea then and I've been very surprised to see it take this long for someone to bring this concept back.

EA didn't invent the wheel with the "impact player", 989 did but I'm sure happy someone at EA took a very good idea and didn't let it die on the shelf.

I wish that EA would have included "Impact Player" in Madden.

Re: Madden Or NCAA 2006?

Gamebreaker's "Impact" or "Gamebreaker Player" was a little different because anybody rated "85" or above was a "gamebreaker".
I bought the game, am not crazy about the passing cone, but like this Madden very much using Football Forever's All Pro Sliders. Right now I'm between "Madden" and "To Close To Call".

Well done by EA on football this year. Two quality games.

I have to agree after only two hours of playing Madden.
