I am a big 2k5 fan and still play it, especially when my friends come over. IMO it's a close call to which game I prefer 2k5 or Madden 06. I think 2k5 still may play a better 2-player game but Madden is better franchise wise. I did not purchase Madden last year so it's a whole new experience to me and I really like it. The last time I played madden, the one with Vick on the cover, I hated it, but this game feels much better than that in every way.

However if 2k6 had come out this year, it would have been something special, especially if they fixed some of the franchise bugs, to me gameplay was near perfect. I probably would not have purchased Madden. I cant help but think of Barry Sanders when I think of 2k5, done before it's time. But all that said, Madden is a great game, it kinda takes the sting out of the 2k6 debacle.

A lot of people have mentioned gameplay stuff, i.e. too many INTs or the A.I. is stupid or the DB's are insane.

It should be noted there are sliders which can compensate for all of that.
