You don't HAVE to hold R2. You can use the thumbstick. What other way can they implement you "looking" at a receiver?

And if they didn't show the icons, how would you know what receiver is which? Do you realize the uproar this would cause? Hitting the flats would be a nightmare.

I really like the cone. I think the passing game is really great, and really involves the user with the way it's implemented. If only it were in NCAA...

Once everyone figures out that all you have to do is hold down R2(PS2) and double tap the button assigned to the WR you want to throw to, the feature will be useless. It's just an extra button mash or 2 that doesn't require any additional thought once you get the muscle memory.

You do know that on All-Madden level this will only work while the receivers are running their assigned routes, right? Once they complete their routes, the only way to move the cone is with the right stick.

If you're locked on to a receiver, do you have to let go of the R button to throw the ball, or will the QB throw even with R held down? I haven't tried the lock-on method at all, I just move the stick around.
