I hope its an entirely different engine without the new passing cone. Brand new with concentrations on football and not a soap opera. It worries me somewhat that we have seen only the rendered version and not a full live 11 on 11 game. The info with Shaun Alexander looks good, but thats not enough for me to get excited about.

You know the graphics will look good, however the engine must be fixed. Example: blokers on punt returns actually block!

Average NFL Punt Return is 8.6 yds. I'm sure you can get that if you just increase the CPU punt length. Special teams are supposed to be chaos, just watch a game and count how many unblocked defenders there are on special teams plays. Why do you think that there are so many more illegal blocking penalties (holding, blocking in the back, etc.) on these plays compared to normal plays from scrimmage.

The blocking that needs to be introduced is zone schemes in the running game. NCAA has tried this the past two years but the linemen don't get to the second and third levels of the defense.

What don't you like about the cone? If anything, I think that you should not be able to see your recievers passing icons unless they're in your field of vision. If you don't like it, the option is there to turn it off anyway.

Blocking and Break blocking better be the biggest improvements. The gluestick suction style blocking has to go. They need to put in FEVER 2004 linebacker logic. That's a good start to build for the next year on it. Stop WAITING sitting back catching blocks and then you can't get off of them. 2k made the same mistake with this. Guys just sit and wait for the blocker to come to them. ATTACK the damn blocker with your inside shoulder, outside arm free, good gawd why is this hard
