WTH..the colts just cut manning before my playoff game

anyone have stuff like this happen and we were 12-4

Were you playing against the Patriots at Foxborough in the first round.? If so, I would have cut him too! He would have had a nervous breakdown and thrown like 10 int's!

Must have needed to sign someone to replace an injured player. His cap number is enormous! Not saying its right, but its probably what happened. Of course, at some point the colts will have to deal with his huge contract.

It seems you are misled about the way the cap, and specifically cap penalties work. Because his cap number is huge and he signed a long term deal fairly recently, cutting him now would KILL your cap because of the remainder of his signing bonus being counted towards the cap right away. Cutting (or trading for that matter) a high-priced player with a lot of unamortized signing bonus left doesn't create cap room, it restrains it. Unless of course the fact that he was cut late in the year means the penalty applies to the next season's cap. But, either way, you'd be losing a great player and hurting your cap situation in the short term. But I think the penalties are screwed up in Madden or at least they used to be. I used to trade players for picks to create cap room and not incur penalties. That can't be done in real life.

I really hope I don't see this kind of crap in my franchise. At times I think it would be best if these games didn't even let the CPU make any roster decisions. No game can get this right and it is so frustrating. Having real players just shuffled and placed on random teams really takes away from the experience for me.

I play 32 user franchises with CPU assit for teams I don't control anyway, it's the only way.
