this may be a dumb question....but what is the point of Injured Reserve in Madden? Unlike the DL in baseball, it doesnt open up a roster spot, so I dont see the purpose of it

The only purpose I see in Madden is to free up cap space. Which is unrealistic. Should be the other way around, free up the roster space, still count against the cap. Maybe one day they will get this right, they've only had 16 years to do so.
