PC Controller Woes

I'd like to comment on the actual game but the controller layout is bugging me out so much that I can hardly play.

By default it seems Madden has assigned (I am using a PS2 controller) the triangle to number 1, Circle to 2, X to 3, and square to 4. This is hard to wrap my head around as it is completely backwards. Does anyone know of a utility out there that will let me change the way madden looks at my controller, or the way that the controller maps its own buttons?

Also, am I the only one having this problem?

Thanks in advance.

Re: PC Controller Woes

Im just installing Madden now, so I dont know for sure, but MVP had a text file that could be editted for the controller mapping. It took me a few days (Im using a PS2 controller with a PC adapter), but I finally got it mapped. Ill take a look as soon as this thing finishes installing.

There is no controller configuration in the setup or options menu ?

Re: PC Controller Woes

Nope no controller config in the game itself, but I will look for a text file as well.

I ran the controller setup/test program and sadly these are also the default buttons for the controller, so it is not maddens fault. Naturally, the program doesn't offer a way to change the mapping either.

Sigh, I simply want to hit the square to throw to my left guy and the circle to throw right and i want to hit X to hike the ball and sprint. Damn.

Another thing, the play clock seems awfully fast. I got called for 3 delay of games on my first possession, course I didn't know what buttons to press either.

Well so much for that! It doesn't even save the controller setup that you create! Fantastic.

I had the same problem in last years game. Ended up deciding to buy a logitech "cordless rumblepad 2" this year.

Yes,

I would recommend going with the logictech controller. $20 bucks and it works great with all EA games. Headache gone.
