Unlike last year, I think that this year's Madden is very good. The gameplay and the AI seem to be there, however there is one small problem. The AI goes out the window during punts! It is so frustrating to catch the ball and watch three of your blockers just stand there and watch as the kicking team goes in for the kill. What kind of nonsense is this? It puts a blemish on an otherwise fine game. Could/would EA do a patch for this? Perhaps in a roster update?

Yup

the players just stand there like

as they watch the defenders run right by 'em. Anyway, try increasing CPU Punt Length and/or use Punt Block....helps a little.

Yeah, I use punt block as well. Which at least lets you return 5 yards. Of course, you won't have ANY blockers with this formation, but at least the defenders take longer to reach you. Either way, we shouldn't have to resort to such tactics to try and emulate what is a pretty important aspect of the game of football. Special Teams and field position. I hope a patch is a viable option to fix this.
