Did I rip off the CPU in this trade?

Ok normally in my franchises, I never trade for anybody remotely good. I like to build up rookies, your young players into dominate forces, however, during the preseason of my 2nd year, Rex Grossman breaks his collarbone and is out for the entire season.

I thought to myself, its ok, I like Kyle Orton anyway, and so I didnt sign a reliable QB. After the first 4 games, I was 0-4. Orton threw 5 TDs, but at the same time he also threw 9 picks. He had a QB rating of 34.9 and he was making only 20% of his passes. And believe me, his passes were horrible.

So after losing my 5 game (Orton went 4-24, 118 yards, 2 ints, 0 tds) I decided to search for a new QB. I looked in the trading block and the Chargers had Philip Rivers up for a trade.

I decided to trade for Rivers, sending Nathan Vasher, Justin Gage, and a 2nd rd pick, for Rivers and a 5th round pick.

Just to let you know, Nathan Vasher is a rated 81 corner, in the previous year, he made it to the Probowl after Tillman was injured for the whole season.

Philip Rivers is a rated 78 QB. Do you think this was a fair trade?

I think you gave up a lot for an unproven QB who had limited snaps last year under comebacker QB Drew Brees.

We'll see who pans out - Rivers and that 5th rounder or Vasher and the 2nd rounder.

Actually in the game hes pretty good. His ratings were 88 TP, 93 TA.

In his first game as a Chicago Bear, he threw 19-24, 343 yards, and 5 TDs, along with 1 int.

He was amazing with the deep ball, and it seems like he was automatic whenever he threw it to Moose. I know that 2nd rounder might kill me, but my team is young and I wont be needing more rookies.

Sorry I did forget to mention one thing. This was against Miami's defense. Which wasnt great to begin with.
