Career Ending Injuries
Have you guys seen any? I'm playing with the Giants in my franchise..and towards the end of the season (Week 15), Peyton Manning suffered a career-ending concussion, and when I read that, my heart dropped. I couldn't believe it. I was hoping I could eventually get a Manning Bowl one year, but now I'm under pressure to carry on the Manning legacy.

Wow. I haven't started mine yet but what happened to PM in yours could definatly happen in real life. Any player is prone to injury. I just could not imagine Payton not playing with the Colts, by the way are you sure it wasn't Eli??? -
Re: Career Ending Injuries
Last year, after a fantasy draft with my three roommates, Paul suffered a devastating blow to his secondary. Ed Reed went down with a career-ending neck injury after the third pre-season game of the first season. The three of us had a good laugh at Paul's expense.Comment

I'm playing in my franchise. I'm in year 2's preseason. The #1 pick in the draft was Matt Leinhart, by the Tampa Bay Bucs.
His first preseason game was against my Bills. First Quarter...Takeo Spikes runs around the right end on a blitz, nice solid hit in the back. Leinhart has to leave the game.
It took the game until the 3rd quarter to let me and everyone else know...Matt Leinhart suffered a broken vertabrae....career ending injury! Before his pro career really even started! Wow, I felt bad!Comment

Re: Career Ending Injuries
I play as the Broncos, and i was in the superbowl for 2nd year, and it was against the Vikings, and it was a goal line situation and the John lynch intercepted a pass and i was running it out of the endzone, and Tomlinson blasted him and broke his hip...(yeah i know you're wondering why Tomlinson is on the Vikies, well as i posted before after the first season the Chargers blew up thier roster.) End of the line for Lynch it's ok tho cause that saved the Super Bowl, not to mention he would have retired most likely after that game, and i drafted Threat out of Miami for when he left so it's all good! Way to take one for the team huh?

Re: Career Ending Injuries
injuries in the game are way too extreme. At least for me, I know that there are some possible career ending injuries, and also out for the season injuries, but when you have a team that has 4 guys that are out for the season, then another 2 guys that ended their career, its a shame. Try lowering down the injuries. it will make it more realistic.
Plus whats the fun of not having to face Peyton Manning, or Leinhart?Comment

And the career enders aren't all that unrealistic either. It's just that it sometimes happens to the bigger name players. In the real NFL, guys have injuries that end their career all the time, almost weekly. The other injuries certainly are not unrealistic. Todd Pinkston, anybody? Rex Grossman?Comment

Originally posted by TJdaSportsGuyYou may want to check your facts, there, pal. Last year, the Carolina Panthers finished with 12 guys on the injured reserve. Yep...TWELVE!! Steve Smith's season ended last year LESS THAN A MINUTE into the first game!

This was a shocker to me as well, could you guys imagine somebody like Reggie McNeal playing for the Colts or Matt Lienart?Comment
