EA is a solid company that is making the right decisions as years go by. Since specific yearly payments were not announced, nobody outside the deal has any clue whether or not EA is losing money on the deal right now. The stock looks pretty good right now and should continue to rise year to year.

haha

man...

I'm hoping McDonalds gets the exclusive deal on hamburgers so nobody else can make them. Thats what would make you and your EA fanboys happy right?!

What a wonderful world it would be if we could just start passing out exclusive deals. How about Spielberg having the exclusive rights to movies about aliens? That would be cool like EA huh.

Or maybe we could do away with all the news stations except CNN. Let CNN be the *exclusive* news provider. Cooooool.

Yeah EA fanbabys. What a wonderful thing the NFL/EA exclusive deal is.

EA/NFL are pathetic, un-American pieces of #%^ ! and anyone who defends this deal is as well. PERIOD!

Do I get to report you for trolling. Please spread more of your ignorance about the business world. I need a good laugh. Nobody even mention the exclusivity deal as a contributing factor to EA's success as a company.

I don't think ppl here were talking so much about the exclusivity deal being the thing that has made EA what it is. It's true EA has done some rather shady stuff in the past few years but there was no need for you to go bashing fans of the EA product in such a way.

If you read the entire thread you'd see that the debate is whether exclusivity deal was worth it in terms of generating a profit. There's very little discussion about how "great" the deal was.

BTW this is a WARNING Please don't troll the forum

fair enough...

but obiwanjenkins, you're dead wrong about EA making the right decisions.

This will prove right in a few years.

I've seen it in my crystal ball. BTW, I have obtained the exclusive rights to crystal balls so don't EVEN think about using yours or else i'll see you in court!

BTW, when did a group of jockheads become such experts in "the business world"?

I thought you guys just "asked coach".

Maybe some of us are older and experienced in the business world? You'd be surprised how many people on OS are older (pretty easy to tell by the way in which one posts).

I'd also recommend you refrain from calling others "stupid" or your time on these boards will be short.

I didnt call anyone stupid.

I was wondering, however, what the average age of the members here was.

30ish?

I'm 40 and own 50% of an ad agency here in Dallas. We do stuff for the Rangers, Mavs, and a bunch of smaller clients.

This got me to thinking about this site and others like it. How do the people that run this site make any money? Is it soley off the ads? I did see a donations thing somewhere here.

how can I donate? check?

Re: Madden 2006 sold 2.5 million copies in August

I read this whole thread, and I don't think this has been mentioned.

2K5 sold for $19.95 and started selling in July.

Perhaps, EA figured they were in danger of going backwards in terms of sales this year.

The other thing, didn't EA have to lower the cost of Madden?
I don't like this exclusive deal, but perhaps it was a good business decision.
