I love OS. I been here a long time, but some dudes jus ruin it man. I love debates and different point of views, but cmon man sh1t gets rediculous sometimes. @ least the basketball forum gets kinda filtered due to more than 1 game. This Madden forum is a mess.

That's cool. You are entitled to your opinion. But honestly, when you're the only game in town on a new console, should it even be close??

That's my beef with Tiburon. They seem to be too stuck in there own ways. This NaturalMotion is a cool idea that should be looked into, but part of me says that we won't see it this gen.

Some of the transitional animations were much better in 2K, however...the most important animation in any football game was completely off the last 2 seasons of 2K...the running animation. I ended up never using sprint in the open field just to avoid that awkward "stick up the behind" running animation. It just looked so odd.

Re: NaturalMotion Advances Animation: New Technology for next gen games

We might not get natural motion, but maybe there is hope for Madden getting a real time physics engine after all.

What about the on-field physics? Have you been able to implement advanced collision detection and other goodies to recreate a more reaistic game?

Jeremy Strauser: Ultimately we ended up re-writing our animation engine and physics engine from scratch. This is a great first step, it is very good and looks great – but we can take this even further in the future with real time physics engines. Real time physics is a huge undertaking on the grand scale needed for a football game, so we didn’t have time to get this type of system in this year’s game. While we are very happy with the animation and physics systems we have, we’re looking forward to even bigger and better things here in this generation of game engine.
Maybe Natural Motion can make it. Time will tell.

That's good to hear.

I don't know how to explain it, but sometimes when I play Madden I get the feeling that it is somewhat stale. I just hope to god that I don't get that feeling on next gen Madden because the game has plenty of potential. I'm looking for something different and I think a better physics/tackling engine may be it.
