Funny Comment from IGN.com

I thought this was funny. IGN was talking about the new 360 controller and made these remarks:

"While at a recent Activision QUAKE 4 demo and in New York at an additional event that I cannot name right now because of timely material (and an embargo), I used the controller extensively."

lol..embargo

This Madden game better be big. And when I say big, I better be able to see fingers move, pain in their eyes, sweat, a game engine that is fluid. A football game that exemplifies football in everyway. I am not being picky. I am counting on the promises of "next-gen." If it's a mere graphics boost, I have other things to waste my money on.

Lift the embargo!

Re: Funny Comment from IGN.com

i think the ea event was in california....

guess i could be wrong.

EDIT: and im not sure he got to play madden, as he said he was going to an "eye's on"(as opposed to hands-on) event at EA.

He did a piece about Need for Speed which he saw at the EA event, and said he was not allowed to play it.

I'm thinking the event in New York was probably something different.

Well, I thought it was funny that they are using the word "embargo." It's sarcasm. With all the anticipation that is building as to what Madden will be like on the 360, I thought it was funny that it is so top secret that the press is being banned from releasing any information on the game.

Now that I explained that, I suppose any glimpse of humor that was there is now dismissed. : )

The word "embargo" is actually used quite a bit in the PR business. Hell, MLB releases information with that word attached to it quite a bit.

Little do you know that most of the media will know who wins all the postseason awards for probably 24 hours before that information is allowed to be released. The same goes for the All-Star teams.

As media, we have access to a webpage that has all of this information on it. "Embargo" is used a lot more than you realize. Nothing really out of the ordinary here. Nothing really funny.
