[quote=blackceasar] When has EA ever put out a better looking sports title than 2k Sports or VC?? never..

that is your own opinion not everbody will say that

also people comparing nba2k to madden is crazy, a basketball game always looked better and more detail than a football game. Even on sega

Re: After seeing Nba 2k graphics

I first made comments about NBA 2k6 and my post was shut down immediately. Well, someone hear needs to wake up and smell more than coffee because the truth hurts. I have been a Madden fan a long time, but I can't defend Ea Sports when the obvious is true. As for the comments about being content with a little better graphics than Espn 2005, thats pretty sad when you really consider the fact that most developers are trying to seperate themselves in terms of graphics and gameplay on the 360 vs. the current systems. (even their initial release)
Why should I grant EA Sports slack and accept the usual "wait until next year". 989 failed on the ps2 because they couldn't move forward from the gameplay style they had on the ps1. Now that Ea is our only choice for NFL video games for at least 3-5yrs, we should hold them to the highest standards, other wise they have no motivation!
The vast amount of technological advances in both next generation systems open doors of opportunities for development companies to blow the current games out of the water. However, if we accept only a fraction of improvement in terms of graphics and gameplay, then we are just as guilty as they are for releasing inferior product.
Bottom line, I want a brand new game engine (graphics, animations,AI) on the other hand, controller layouts should remain very close to the current systems because that is what really allow gamers to feel comfortable thru all the past years with the different versions.

More people on the sidelines. Bigger stadiums. Also must deal with different lighting in every stadium and weather.

I think that basketball can and probably will look better than football games.
Thats exactly right...take racing games for instance, those usually always look much better then any other genre. When there is more stuff to render, more stuff needs to be compromised or toned down.

Did I say anything would be different? Good grief man, I'm a VC guy just as much if not more than some of you cats, but some of you guys are just annoying with this ****. I said Live MIGHT be different and then you come with an attack about track record. If it was not meant to be an attack, the language used conveyed it. BTW, I think 2k has always had better looking games (not necessarily better moving games though), but tell my cousin that and he'll have a knock down drag out with you.

I agree with you. Those NBA 2k6 videos and pictures made me drop my jaw, the last time I did that for a video game was with Soul Caliber came out on the dreamcast. VC is really taking sports games to another level. Hopefully EA can stop being lazy, putting gimmicks in their games, and spending more money on marketing than making the game.

And where did you hear this "rumbling" from?

If I went any bigger, it would not have properly fit with my equipment, so I had to optimize. I'm okay with it, but I also know what I'm missing with those five inches. :)

This is what I've been wondering for awhile. Where people get these high expectations for ea's graphics just confuses me.

Re: After seeing Nba 2k graphics

This shouldn't even be a topic.

You can't compare a NBA game to a NFL game, due to the already mentioned reasons.

And everyone knows 2K's graphics have always been better than EA's, so that's not an argument either.

We haven't seen any sort of 2K football game, so you we can't use any "what ifs" about a 2K game looking better than MAdden 360.

That's about it.
