I BOUGHT A 42" PLASMA SAMSUNG FOR THIS

It's phat. I mounted it on my wall and have it connected to HD Direct TV box which is connected to my HP media center. I have a slot open specifically for Xbox 360 and MADDEN. Suddenly my spirits have been lifted..still I would like more lengthy video to critique but so far it doesnt look half bad..rather impressive..if it looks good on a 3 by 5 inch window on my computer..I can only imagine what it will look like on 42 expansive inches on my plasma

Oh yea..if you want a good one..get the Samsung 4232..it boast 10,000:1 contrast ratio...several BILLION displayable colors...brightest and most colorful picture out there.

HAS ANYONE ELSE BOUGHT A PLASMA, HD OR DLP TV JUST FOR NEXT GEN?

I plan on buying a flat panel LCD or Plasma around the same time the Xbox 360 comes out. I have seen the prices drop from month to month, so I figure I could save a few hundred bucks if I wait until November.

Does your Samsung have the florescent (spell check) lights on the sides?

I recently bought a 52" RCA Rear Projection HDTV for $968 at Best Buy. Right now I have my set top and X-Box on the floor in the living room until I get an entertainment tower to put next to it (the top of the TV is not thick enough to hold either, plus the propensity for the heat to ruin the TV). I live with my girlfriend so of course the tower has to "match the decor" otherwise I would have bought one weeks ago...

I have been playing Halo 2 on it lately and it is CRISP. I also got the Cox Cable HD package. I swear, so clear, it looks like Stuart Scott is in my lap giving me the scores. When I get the 360, I'll keep my regular X-Box out there mainly for storage while I ball it up next-gen style. The only problem is that in the living room, I will not be able to connect to the internet so I will have to figure out a way around that once that problem arises.

Happy gaming.

You may want to hold your cash a little longer. Most game developers suggest using CRT for games over lcd/plasma.

Quote:
He suggests standard CRT over other types, devoting a lengthy rant to his displeasure with LCD televisions. Itagaki states that Team Ninja has "flagship class" LCD televisions throughout its offices, and he's not impressed with any of them. The problem, he states, isn't so much with response time, but with inaccurate color. Combine that with the high prices, and he comes to the conclusion: "buying a CRT is, as a gamer, a wise choice." - Tomonobu Itagaki, the Dead or Alive and Ninja Gaiden developer of Team Ninja.

Sf, i bought the same one and i like it for sure. i already have a 30 inch samsung in the bedroom so i wanted a big screen for the living room. the rca isn't the best out there, not even close, but for the money, it is really a great set. i have the comcast hi def package and man, like you said, sportscenter is off the friggin hook on that thing. enjoy fellas, only a few more weeks until next gen "arrives", lets keep our fingers crossed that it is everything we are expecting....

Re: I BOUGHT A 42" PLASMA SAMSUNG FOR THIS

I have a 20" Magnavox in my room so I most definitely needed a big screen to do the next gen systems justice.

Yeah, it is not the best set but definitely worth the money. I had read some reviews not praising the standard channels but I am cool with about as clear as my Magnavox but DVDs, X-Box and HD channels are well worth it. Plus, Cox is adding more HD channels soon, which will be great.
