I don't think I have ever used even teams either. Back when NFL2k came out the steelers weren't so hot so I could play them straight up and me and my buddy would have some awesome. Also....NFL2k has always (IMHO) done a better job of player ratings. So even when the Browns suck.....if I play a good solid game and make few mistakes I can win or at least almost win! In Madden it has always felt like I don't have a hope in hell to win or even keep it close. Maybe the new one will be different.

It's not a deal breaker for me, but I liked the option of editing/creating players, but I'm not sure if the abilty not to do it is money motivation on EA's part-I mean, did they ever have trouble selling these games before? I realize they have just obtained the exclusive NFL rights, but there Xbox/PS2 versions have player editing. I'm not defending EA, I just think this feature was left out because of time constraints. To the proud Browns fan, will you be able to make roster trades (LT for a backup RB) to bolster your Browns team? I know it's not the same, but it would make them a little more competitive.

i love the option to edit players equipment and such, and not having that really takes away from the game for me. what REALLY sucks about this though is that when you sign a player from free agency i guess you are going to be limited to the jersey number the computer decides to give him. i wish we could atleast edit jersey numbers or something....

Probably true. Its a little soon to jump to any conclusions that EA is removing player editing with an eye towards selling more games or roster updates.

The bottom line is that while Madden 360 may be next gen, it is, at the same time, a stripped down (compared to the feature packed current gen game)first gen game and will have all the problems and lack of features associated with some 1st gen games.

The key for me will be the presentation, new playcalling interface and improved graphics and animations. The "Classic" and "Madden" camera views I've downloaded can't accurately capture the clarity and detail that will present itself on a high def TV.
