Franchise Question?

After my final preseason game, 2 of my veteran players went down in ratings.

How do you avoid this, or can't you.

Why would you want to stop that?
To me it adds to the realism. Not only that but if ratings etc didn't change then what would be the point of having pre-season? Just my .02.

LOL...sounds like to me you dont want a real football game. You only want it to be "real" when it works in your favor lol.

Re: Franchise Question?

yeah, I guess you guys are right.

I just didn't have many young players go up in ratings.

Re: Franchise Question?

I disagree with he idea of vets dropping down after the preaseason being realistic. Outside of aging and injury, how often do you see players get worse? You don't (Jamal Lewis notwithstanding). Veteran players don't "forget" how to play, or find they can't use their hands anymore (and definitely not at the progression rate in madden).

The other problem with that is that I've seen good players go on a downward spiral: a few bad games --> lower stats --> worse playing ---> more bad games ---> lower stats....this happend to a lot of qb's in my ps2 franchise (league-wide).

According to the progression logic, only good players get better, which means Eli Manning shouldn't have learned anything and the colt defense should have gotten a lot worse and be giving up about 1000 yds a game by now.

They really needed to scale back negative progression and allow low awr players and young players to progress even with bad games (ie tying AWR to good stats and # of starts)
