Do you think EA held out certain stuff....

...on purpose?

Especially with their new NFL game "Head Coach" on the horizon?

We'll have to wait until Madden 07 before we can answer that one. However FIFA has always had a limited franchise mode because there is a soccer sim game made by EA as well.

Re: Do you think EA held out certain stuff....

I think the official word was in rebuilding a game from scratch there were certain elements that would have to be built from scratch as opposed to porting like 2k does with a number of their titles (ala NBA2k6).

With over 10 years of Madden legacy code and the game plan being to rebuild every element of the game there were bound to be features that would not make the initial cut. The easy thing to do would have been to just port over everything but to some extent EA is dammed if they do and dammed if they don't because one way or the other someone would complain. I personally like the fac that they plan to rebuild everything and not port old features to next gen games

In other words your saying that EA can't ever give the consumer what it wants.... so lets charge them 60bucks and start over.....

That's not the point. The point is to accuse 2K of exactly what EA did with Madden -- port their game over to the 360. Takes the heat over Madden you see. Methinks Mr. two-post Hustleman is exactly what his names implies... or maybe an EA employee?

Here's his only other post:

"I actually think Madden 360 is a very solid game given that EA was up front from ther giyt go about features and elements of the game that would take time to re-implement...very solid game of football and lots of fun."

Right. Very solid... very solid.

Yet the game doesn't use a next-gen football engine at all imo what did they exactly rebuild? Wrs can now beat linebackers? wow what a rebuild. That could been fixed years ago.
The core engine is the same and still based on motion capture tackles *hundreds of animations added wow* that have nothing to do with physics and the game can't even perform real gang tackles or anything you would expect from a "rebuilt from scratch" next gen engine should be able to do. Players in the nfl get tackled by multiple players your rarely see a runningback that isn't swarmed by multiple players. Yet madden can't do what happens in football every play.

Imo everything that is in madden 360 minus the graphics coulda been done years ago if they woulda actually worked on the engine the 5 years it layed dormat on the ps2/xbox. It's still motion capture it has nothing to do with physics, you get sucked into tackles and sucked into blocks. They spent all that time making this engine and they couldn't include anything else and thats what they deliver?

Don't you love it when your player gets sucked into the scripted 2 man gang tackles. Don't you love it when a running back is falling backward the opposite way that you hit him. Don't you love it when a running back is stuck in the falling forward motion capture animation and you hit him with 4 defensive backs and they don't alter his direction at all, they bounce off him like he is an immobile object. This is the next gen they spent all the hard time on and the reason they couldn't include anything but barebones!
