I'm Having Trouble in Free Agency. Please Help!

Hey guys,

I just rented Madden 06 for the XBOX on the weekend. It didn't come with a manual.

Anyways, I am in the off-season and in free agency now.

Question: Why is it that, even if I submit a better offer to teams, the free agent will state, "Your offer was not one enough to warrant top consideration?" Afterwards, he ends up going to another team. This has happened with every free agent I have pursued except for a player I released and ending up re-signing (apparently he was willing to come back).

Can you guys help me, because it doesn't seem logical. I'm offering the most money. I understand the F/A's take lots of stuff into consideration like prestige and playing time. But even the guys I went after who JUST wanted money wouldn't come to play for me. And the previous season I wasn't an awful team. I went 8-8. Maybe there is something I just don't understand yet since I've only had the game since Saturday.
