I think V. Young's passer rating of 168.8 begs to differ. Proof is in the numbers my friend..Young proved last year that he is simply better.

Good to have a guy on my side!! MVICK im with ya all the way.. Besides even if he isnt rated higher which would eb gay if he isnt i always prefer a Scramblin QB.. He can probably take a hit too.. Leinarts Toughness should =0 hes a weanie... And wouldnt you think that if he was better and Knowing McNairs situation and that Fisher would have to start a rookie for QB he would have chose the better 1? Forget all that non sense that Hes Preparign the Franchise.. Fishers Job is at Stake!!! He made the best move

What does that mean? QB passer ratings, which are calculated quite differently in the NFL btw, have ZERO bearing on how good a passer the player will be in the NFL.

1999 Mike Vick led the NCAA with a 180 passer rating. How has the worked out for him in the NFL? Joe Hamilton and Billy Volek were #'s 2 and 3. I guess they are great passers also.

2000 Bart Hendricks led the NCAA in passer efficiency, Chris Wienke was #2 How have they been as NFL passers.

I don't know how good Young will be, but to base your prediction on such a funky stat as college passer ratings makes no sense what so ever.

So Leinart can't take a hit? How many games did he miss in his career?

I do.

xxxxxxxxxxxxx Att -- Com -Yds --- % - YPA - Lng - TD - Int - Sck - Rtg
Young : 2005 212 - 325 - 3036 - 65.2-9.34 - 75 -- 26 - 10 - 13 -- 163.95
Leinart: 2005 283 - 431 - 3815 - 65.7-8.85 - 67 -- 28 - 08 - 17 -- 157.74

And I won't post rushing yardage and TDs.

So Young is better because he threw for fewer TD's more int's, less yardage and a poorer completion pct?

I swear, using stats as the only identifier to prove the better player is stupid. Espcially when tranlating college talent to the NFL.

and Leinart was a senior, Young was a junior.

I dont know what else EA can base their ratings on besides 1. draft position, and 2. stats

...the #3 pick, and top drafted QB, should be rated high.

Re: Draft Pick Ratings

If I were to rate the two players I'd do it this way.

Obviously, VY will be more athletic, so his speed, accel, etc type numbers will be higher.
He has a stronger arm, so his arm strength ratinng would be higer.

Leinart is considered by most at this point to be more accurate and more NFL ready, so I would probably make Leinart's accuracy and awareness higher.

my .02.
