Re: POTD 8-4

Anyone know if the field degradation happens radomly or actually where players tread. Will be stupid if the same thing happens every time it rains but very cool if it depends on field position and where players have actually been tackled etc.

My guess it will just happen in the same places every game...

1st...Why do all the fans have short sleeve shirts on?...Wtf.]

2nd...I didn't see the field getting torn up when the players fall down or run in the specific area. Seems like EA took the short cut and programmed mud spots every 3 mins.

I know it looks better..But you said its a waste of money if you have a SDTV

Which is a horrible assumption, the games still look amazing.

And a PS3 for that matter. The games on PS3 are actually meant to be played on 1080p so that probably would cost more.

you're the one who said it looks like a 4/5 generation xbox game on an SDTV, now its amazing?

im just saying if someone is gonna spend 400/500$ on a 360/PS3 you may as well spend 400/500$ on a low-end HDTV ( they are out there) to take FULL advantage of the next-gen games

Re: POTD 8-4

If the field deterioration actuallly affected the players in a realistic manner it would actually mean something more then last gen. Basically all it is now is a nicer visual effect. Next gen things should evolve in more then just the visual aspect.

Players should slip slid, have trouble getting footing. Animations should match the weather, you simply shouldn't just add an ice skating feel to the controls. The field field falls apart the players get muddy, the controls feel slippery, this was on the snes.

Co-sign...

I didn't see any signs of players slidding or slipping due to the rain....I mean in Madden 95 when you dove the players would slide2/3 yards extra due to the rain.

Also I didn't even see any of the chunks of grass fly up from the field during plays.
