Explaining Live Opponent

I think this is a pretty cool feature, and the extent of what it offers hasnt been fully realized. I figured I would post what we've done with it so far, and offer up at least one positive topic to discuss lol

Heres the link to my thread about it: http://www.maddennation.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=66034

I guess it doesnt surprise me that anything positive now is being completely ignored lol, man do the negatives get all the attention or what? We've now got a way to play online using custom rosters, which for me will extend the longevity of the game. I normally stopped playing after the NFL season ended cause I just couldnt stand using those outdated rosters.

Hey bud,

Can you use this feature while in Franchise Mode? For example, let's say I'm getting ready to play my Week 1 game between the Bills and Patriots. Can I get a Live Opponent to play as the Patriots if I so choose?

I actually also thought about this feature and how it could be used in this way. Then I thought about how much easier it would be if EA would just take online play more serious and do online leagues.
Either way the fatigue issue is a big one and should be focused on right now.

I along with other do however appreciate the stuff you do and post for us all to check out.

Re: Explaining Live Opponent

What I really want to know about Live Opponent is what happens when some little ***-clown quits a game because it would mess up their "perfect season" if they are losing....Does that then get saved as a Loss on their Franchise, or can they just keep quitting and playing again until they win? and then what happens if you are winning and get a disco? Does THAT loss go to YOU in your Franchise (like it does so often online)?

If using Live Opponent could be perfected and easier, it has the potential to be an awesome feature. As it is right now, it seems kind of "tacked on" and not very well fleshed out yet....HOWEVER - I won't bash EA for that, instead I will say what it is - a good try at an innovative online feature that hopefully will be serviceable in 2007 but shoul dbe great if it is worked on for 2008.

Re: Explaining Live Opponent

I'm glad they tried this I have been trully dissapointed at the online features offered by EA. This is at least a step in the right direction.
