I've never used xbox live. Will I need to buy a gold membership in order to get the patch ? I know I get the basic one as soon as I'm connected but will I be able to download it anyway ?

you wont need to buy anything, as soon as ea releases the patch over xbox live you will be prompted to download it the next time you turn madden on.

You do not need gold to get patches/updates or downloads. Only need gold to play online.

Silver package is what you need. With that you can download demos, patches, etc.

You also have to make sure your 360 is connected to the Internet. Either Wirlelessly or Directly connected to a Modem.

For those without broadband your best bet is to find a friend who does and take your hard drive over to his place.

I think if you have dial up you can burn a disk(I read somewhere)
