Give EA A Bit of Credit - Ode to Live Opponent

I've just played the second game of my Franchise against the Houston Texans. Normally you go game by game playing the computer, but with Live Opponent you're able to play a human. This addition to Madden is the best thing to happen to this series in YEARS! No longer will you be forced to play an a.i. that you can learn backwards and forward, every game is a different test. Normally when I think of the Houston Texans I'd count it as an easy win, but my opponent made me work for everything. I won the game via qb sneak by Peyton Manning with 2 seconds left in the ball game to win by a point. It was one of the most intense non-league game that I've had. I was thinking to myself "I can't begin my season 1 and 1 and have the Texans be one of my L's." Fortunately, that didn't happen though.

I give EA a lot of **** because they've dissapointed me time and time again. From their sorry servers to glitchy games, it always seems like it's something. However, this Live Opponent feature will totally change the way that Franchise mode is played on a console for many people. I personally don't plan on playing the computer anymore unless for some reason my opponent drops out on me during a game. If EA is able to do this, there's no reason that they shouldn't have league play next year. It's the next logical step. Props to EA for a change.

Cool deal, Can't wait to try this. This was the coolest feature for 2007.
Should breathe new life into franchise, wonder if you can control who play against.

example

me playing my league game and i want my buddy to play as my oppisition.

Online leages can't be too far behind.

Yes. When you click the left bumper it gives you the option of choosing a random live opponent or inviting a friend.

I ended up squeaking out another one against the Jags online last night. Wow, winning the SuperBowl will definitely be a challenge.

Live Opponent is a nice feature, but limited. I'm wanting to have wanting to have some type of league feature to utilize with my friends, but all Live Opponent does is tease us with that.

Maybe for someone who wants to play a human for all of their franchise games, it's nice, but when you try to incorporate multiple users, you can't, and that falls flat for me.

When using the live opponent feature does it count towards your online record also?
