Is the Madden Strategy Guide worth it?

I'm sure most of you are already Madden geniuses but I need to become one. Is the strategy guide worth purchasing? Was thinking of getting it today.

Well, I just took a look during lunch, and it seemed like it may have been geared to the current gen game. Is it worth it for the 360 owners?

I read one while on lunch and wound up buying it after we closed. I find it very insightful.

The only thing that pisses me off is that if EA would make the instruction manual longer than 7 pages, then there would be no need for the strategy guide, but I guess that is why the instruction manual is only 7 pages.

well my mom bought it thinking I would need it and I thought it was a good reference to learn about what other people use for plays being that I don't play online. However most of the plays they tell you to try or use for a specific team are not in the 360 version playbooks. There is no team defensive playbooks for the 360 so the defensive plays they give are harder to find on the base defenses. On top of that they dont even tell you the control layout or any of that stuff for the 360.

i like it. lots of useful info from a strategic pov. but yeah, i agree, reading about all of the wonderful features and how to do this and how to do that and then realizing these things are NOT in the 360 version is pretty damn depressing...
