I mean, if we're going way back, Madden 93 was the best IMO. It also had the tightest music. I still hum that crap today! Plus, Championship edition that same year was awesome. I like '01 for PS as well. Madden died for me until it came out on PS. I thought it jumped the shark in '94 (defense was TOO weak), but it made a great comeback.

05 was the most fun game for me. 06 was terrible, 07 has no fatigue/fantasy draft and 05 was just a better game overall.

I especially liked 2003 on PS2. I bought 2004 but couldnt play it. Then just said "no" to Madden until this year.

i think i enjoyed 2005 out of all the recent versions. I played the crap out that game all the way up until 06 came out.

Madden 2003 was the best on the PS2. I had a blast with the first versions of Madden that were polygon (98, 99?) on the PS1 but 2003 got the most play.

Madden 2001 was a good start but had issues. 2002 fixed some things but the running game was horribly unbalanced if I recall. The outside runs were twice as easy as running up the middle which was a real letdown for me. 2003 was extremely balanced and fun. Somewhere along the line, I haven't really enjoyed a Madden game since.
