Wait why cant you save SYSTEM CLOCK?

It does stay on, you must have your 360 on a UPS or strip that is getting turned off.

what is a ups? i always turn mine off when done, hit the middle button. I am new to xbox so is there a way to keep it on like the ps2?

Make sure where you're plugging it into isn't getting turned off really is all you have to do. For example if you have it plugged into a wall outlet that turns off when someone turns off the light or something in the room then that is a problem. It needs constant power to not lose it's settings.
