3 more editions to go before the deal expires. The thing is we don't know how profitable this deal was for EA because I've yet to see a discloser regarding how much this deal cost EA. Judging by the milking that was "NFL Head Coach", I'd say that it may be a hasty conclusion to think that this deal was a windfall.

I agree with the above poster though. We need a constructive outlet for the anger. The moaning does not help.

I read this morining that FIFA '07 is going to have something akin to Natural Motion Physics. Clearly the competition due to Winning 11 is pushing the state of the art is sports gaming (at least in Soccer). We don't have competition to push Madden along however, as the poster suggests above, we can essentially petition EA to add these kind of innovations to their game. We can also mention the same thing to the NFL. I doubt the league would be happy to hear that their product is based on outdated algorithms that the rest of the gaming business has left behind.

I was also about to post this. Considering all the petty milking of every cent EA can gather from the NFL deal makes me wonder how much it truly is helping their bottom line.

I also wonder if EA consideres this a one time shot just to get people hooked on Madden. Just think. After this deal is over an entire generation of gamers only knowledge of videogame football will be MADDEN. That in itself will garner EA years of non judgemental support from gamers that just dont know any better. Kids that were 8 when this deal started wouldnt even know 2k ever existed. Companies like 2K will be starting from scratch building fan support.

Being closed minded and thinking that EA is an evil empire is exactly why you have the attitude you do and why you are being negative. Seriously if you don't like the game that much then don't play it. Why are you posting here so much against Madden, in other words what is your goal? To try to make other people "see the light" and feel the same way?

Does it really make you feel better if this were to happen or something?
Seriously, a game board for a specific game is much more productive if the people posting there actually own and like the game. Not just a place to vent against a game because of whatever reason.

But apparently it's free game against Madden.

Hopefully by this time next year and Madden 08 hits people will either play the game or shut up and play something else instead of the constant 2 y/o whining threads.

lol maddenman, you're crazy if you think EA is going to improve on the level that 2k did, especially with no competition.

But like your name suggests, fanboys are delusional.

just use common sense... if madden is selling like hotcakes even with minimal upgrades and still sells with no franchise modes back in 06... what kind of incentive will EA have to improve/change thier game?

the only way Madden will improve is when buyers don't buy thier game.

This is just my opinion. As we all know the NFL is a business. EA approach them with tons of money and sega didn't. I do not like this exclusive NFL deal but money talks. Gene Upshaw and the then Commisioner of the NFL are all over 60 years old and could care less about a video game. Lets all hope when the rights deal expires it wouldn't be renewed. The only option a person who like NFL video games can do is purchase Madden are play an old version of 2K football. The deal is done. I happen to like this years version of Madden 360 version.

Maybe he likes the game?

I don't mean to step in for you MaddenMan, but come one already. Don't people like you move your anti-EA posts to the Live forum around this time of year?

If people like a game that you don't...just let it go. In fact, here's a little tip to make you feel good: think of yourself as smarter than the masses. Whatever you do, just give up this petty "I wish 2k was back/Madden sucks" argument. When you're 20, you'll be happy you did.

Best thing to do if you are unhappy with Madden is post on EA's website with things you would like to see improved or in the game next year (since it is the only NFL option).
So you are saying we should all continue to buy a product we are disappointed in just because it is the only one of its kind?

Here is a better idea. Get over an NFL branded video game and spend your time and money on something else. Like you said, money talks and when EA isn't making any then the customer has spoken.

Believing EA listens to customer input other than the type their marketing research spits at them is as childish a notion as thinking Madden will improve next year because we ask them nicely.

Sure it is the only NFL game in town and right now that sells it but that does not mean it always will. Yeah, it is an uphill climb but don't think in four years time that the Madden brand can't be known as a complete stink pile and something avoided by a majority of gamers - NFL fans or not.
