does anyone else feel this way?

04 stats are not messed up........tackle for loss (in 07 the league leader would have like 6-8), receptions

replays on screen

playmaker on d and o-you can change you recievers route mid play as well as your blockers

player progression is a lot better-in o7 you can get most players in the 90's at will

no tony bruno

better commentary-i don't know why, it seems like madden says more

field goals are not automatic

i blocked a fg in my first game back

you can actually amounta return game

you have a sideline reporter

replays don't slow down the game

seems like there are more celebrations

anyone else think this way?.....................

I actually think 03' was the most balanced, and its been way down hill since.

Best football game there is though is NCAA 07 on regular XBOX.

I almost forgot the cpu also subs the 1st stringers out of the game at the start of the 2nd quarter in the 1st and 4th preseason games. 05-07 didn't have this feature they just sub the 1st stringers out after halftime.

I think the best version of this franchise is Madden 05 on the PS2.

Must Agree...it was the one I enjoyed the most game-wise...

However, 2002's Expansion Team feature was THE BEST!!!! NO DOUBT!!!

My L.A. Pirates were the real deal. You get nada in the Expansion Draft, but the first draft class is always fun. I got a RB that came out with a 99 Spd, a great catch, but fumbling issues...he was very Barry Sanders-ish...named Benji Waters, wore #20. He improved out of his fumblitis after three seasons, but was awesome his entire career. Went 4-12 year one...made playoffs year 2...won SB by yr 5, after losses in Conf. title games...I even lost a SB in yr 4, if I remember right...overtime against the....SAINTS!!....yes....the Saints...Ricky Williams...monster...high monster...
I played 8 seasons, it was my favorite franchise ever, and I am a stupid, stupid person for deleting the save...

It was too easy to be a cheese ball in madden 04. I think 07 is the most balanced myself.

I think 04 was great. By far my favorite madden. 03 was the year of the 5 wide sets with tall receivers jumping over DB's. 05 was terrible because of all the stupid blitz packages that was almost impossible to stop. I believe 06 was the year of the user controlled WR, the fatigue glitch, the super lead pass, and a few others I can't remember. Seems like the games are getting worse and worse as the years go on.

It's a toss up for me between 03 and 04. I give 03 the gameplay nod. It's just more balanced, and All-pro is actually challenging. 04, however, is my game of choice mainly because of the Franchise additions. Owner Mode, contracts increasing year to year etc.

If I could get the 03 gameplay with the 04 features, I'd be in heaven. As it is, I will settle for having to slightly adjust the sliders in 04 to increase the challenge to get all the Franchise features I enjoy.

If I remember correctly, 04 was also the last year of that particular graphic style. The "new" graphics technology they're using since 05 is terrible. Grossly oversized player models.
