I hadnt really played madden except for this one online league i am in. SO i tried to play a quick match....WRONG.....ooops...lol. This guy stayed in goaline formation and ran the ball all game and no huddled....comedy. Went for two every time he scored.Then on defense he blitzed every down. WOW!!! I asked him if he had fun playing like that and he said that im crying because i suck.

(flavor flav voice): WOOOOOOOOOOOOOW GEEEEEEE!!!!

There will always be players liike this in all online videogames. Sometimes their "strategies" can backfire on them... say if you ran split backs and threw quick passes to the flats for gains, that might have made his "strategy" backfire. My suggestion, play unranked games to get started. People generally are more laid back and just "play for fun" typically leading to less cheese while at the same time, you get to practice with nothing on the line.

since it's a game and people play how they want, I have no problem with dbag's playing it like that. Madden isn't really the definition of sim football exactly anyways.

thats fine and dandy but the issue is i want to play football....not rugby...i dont care if i win or lose...so im not looking for things to counter this.... But I guess you answered the question...madden is like this online... Single player has kept me happy up until now though i must say.

yeah, online games can get frustrating when playing with strangers. If possible, keep to games with your friends or with guys you see on forums. random guys more often than not play like this and act like bitches.

man, he was in goalline formation the whole time and just ran and u couldn't stop him? maybe the realization is that you do suck and need to work on D. Online games are all about DEFENSE why does everyone think its about offense. Rememeber, offense may score points but defense wins games. I'm not trying to insult you and I'm only stating the obvious. Honestly any real gamer here who truely is a real gamer would know they would love the opportunity of someone who cheeses like that so we can laugh in their face.

all you have to worry about is the run and couldn't even do that, god forbid he went into shotgun,,,

If that's your definition of a real gamer, I'm sure many would beg to differ.

IMO, this isn't the definition of a real gamer. It's the definition of someone who finds pride in the win of a competition, no matter the rules.

Being that as it may, I would call those who DON'T want to experience this a real SPORTS gamer: someone who wants a reflection of the sport they watch week in and week out on TV in video game form. They want to play someone who takes more pride in outsmarting their opponent. Running one formation is NOT outsmarting your opponent... please don't feed the BS train with that one. It's about understanding the weakness of a video game and exploiting it.

The same could be said for some other sports: dunking every play on a basketball game is a perfect example.

I'd rather lose to someone who can play AND manage a great game. If exploiting the game by playing like an idiot is your definition of fun, great. Just find others that feel the same way and I'll steer clear... and look for the REAL sports gamers...
