Madden Prospects vs. NCAA Draft Class

I simmed a season in franchise just to see how the prospects would turn out, and of course they're absolute crap. Just like every year, there's no balance among players' ratings. MOST FS and SS had speed in the 70's-low 80's, no consistency between SPD, ACC, AGI, etc., etc., etc...There are simply NO balanced, blue-chip prospects out there. Why can't the development team simply model draft classes based on the current year's rookie ratings? I don't get it...

Which leads me to my second point. Has anyone imported an NCAA class and checked to see how the rookies rate? Please post any finding here so I know if it's worth it to even begin a real franchise.

I have. The ratings are about the same as last gen. I drafted Justin King #1 overall he had a 96 speed and a 92 overall rating. Its pretty realistic IMO.

Good to know, sounds like as long as I import from NCAA we should be looking good then.

I simmed and drated Colt Brennan 23rd overall (he was projected top 10). He was a 79. Most the rooks I saw were low 80's (pretty realistic, I think).

Ditto that. The thing that I like about this year's scouting/draft is that there is definitely a difference between drafting someone 1st overall and 12th. There have been some Madden's where rookies came out and all were in the 80's or nineties. It seems like ratings fit the draft slot. I also drafted Jeff Byers in the third round and he appears to be one of those "gems" as an 87 overall

I havent tried the sim draft yet, but ive noticed that there still seems to be a bit too much fluctuation in the NCAA imports. I simmed the first season and Darren Mcfadden came out as a 3rd rounder at 75 overall.

McFadden will go in the top 5 if all goes well. And if all goes well, I hope he weareth the Star on his helmet.

I'm pretty sure that depends on the type of year he had in your NCAA sim. You might want to run that again. Maybe he was hurt or something.
