Fumbles aren't a problem? Running tally time

The player fumble at times when they most likely wouldn't be covering up the ball in a real life situation. Most pro backs have no problem holding onto the ball with one arm.

The problem is even if you use the Protect ball button you still cough up the ball more than the ratings indicate you should.

I'm starting to wonder if the button isn't absolute when you press it down. I know I've seen times where I press the button down, the player does the cover up animation, then goes right back to his regular running animation.

Not to mention if you cover up everything it kills your ability to run and a lot of the fun of the game. Its not as simple as just using the cover up button. Thats no solution and its definitely not a solution to make the computer stop fumbling.

Jacking up the RB ability sliders to 100 for both Human and CPU and increasing the Tackle slider to compensate, has helped minimize fumbles.. After 12 games, I only registered 10 fumbles. I think 70-80 for tackle slider works well with a high break block setting (around 60) for CPU and a low break block setting (around 10-20) for Human.

It's not but it's frustrating when people talk about solving the problem without realizing that it doesn't apply to online, which is where the meat of the game is for a lot of people.

RBs in real life don't do that. How then could you stiff arm, use your fore arm, juke, ect. Like someone said, most backs don't have a problem holding onto the ball with one hand when being tackled by a single defender. Gang tackles? Sure. End of the game when even lone defenders are gambling for the strip? Sure. But not every time like you stated. If that's necessary, the problem (skills) are not on the user's end.
