Might be worth making a PC one, but I think it is basically the same as the PS2/Xbox gameplay wise, perhaps just a bit smoother and more responsive (depending on your PC anyway), so not sure the impressions will be that much different. Then again, the PS3 and 360 have their own threads.
If you played 07 PC a lot, don't expect 08 PC to initially wow you as it's largely the same game which slight enhancements in its smoothness and responsiveness, as well as widescreen res support (which I hear feels and looks great on the PC). It's definitely not going to be the same jump 07 to 08 on the 360 was, but then 07 PC was close to being as good as the old engine will get so that's not surprising.
I think in time savvy PC fans who are not put off by the initial likeliness to 07 will start to see significantly improved gameplay and AI enhancements and the likes. My initial overriding impression so far has been better CPU AI on both sides (my 07 sliders are now slightly too skewed towards the CPU in 08, which is a good sign), as well as a higher emphasis on good players playing good and bad players playing bad. There are still some things which are a shame to see go unfixed from 07 (late QB hits, LE's being too effective at times etc), but it is an improved game, which was hard to do as 07 was the best Madden ever made up until a few days ago IMO.

It has a modified weapons system - if you played 07 current gen, you'll have experienced the "Player Roles" system.
Well, these all exist in 08 still, as well as weapons. In fact, there are now 40+ different roles/weapons all up, and a player can have a max of 2 of these.
2 out of 40+ sounds low, but the game manages to expand it slightly. For instance, Defensive lineman can have a Pass rushing weapon, a Run Stuffing weapon, or a weapon known as "Force of Nature". The first 2 are basically specialist weapons, but the Force of Nature weapon means he's great at both. So in a way, a player on the PC can have a max of two weapons, and one "role" from the same as last year (Fan favourite, future star, team leader, team distraction etc).
I think it may even be a little more complex than the next gen system, and so far it seems to translate to gameplay pretty well. I was the Jags just now, and wow, running up the middle with two run stuffers is tough.
