I've been playing the PS2 version of Madden on a PS3 with the bumped up resolution and it's probaably the best version/football sim of the year (comparing to 360 - madden, all pro, ncaa - ps3)

No excessive fumbles, you can play franchise mode with a friend online (spawn games), the gameplay is way tighter than anything else.

Yeh the graphics aren't as good as next gen but all things considered I thinks it's the best release of the year. I would recommend giving it a try if you have a PS3 (w/ componant calbes on a lcd tv)...the graphics aren't that bad and you get all the bells and whistles...create a play, online franchise, tight gameplay, and all the other things I may be leaving out....it's by far the most robust and most fun of all 08 football games available.

I would have to agree. if you are a franchise nut, PS2/Xbox is the way to go.

Actually the pc version would have to get the nod. Same game as XBOX and PS2, but running at a resolutions similar or even higher than what is on Next Gen, depending on your machine/monitor.

So let me get this str8.........you have a ps3 and bought the ps2 version to play on it? Makes no sense to me? If you don't own the ps3 then I could understand your need for justification.

I have the PS2 and the PS3 version. PS2 is virtually the exact same game as 07. I really wish they would have incorporated the gang tackling into the PS2 game. There are very few new animations in CG...it feels exactly the same. It's nice hearing John and Al but they also say the exact same stuff as last year. The only real difference I noticed is that 08 CG plays a lot smoother than 07 and the gameplay is quite enjoyable...I just wish there would be the sweet tackling animations that are in NG...you never see the same tackle twice they are so good.

I tried the next gen versions but they don't play as well as current gen...I was noting that you get a slighter better resolution on the PS2 version by playing on the PS3...that' s all.

I have the 360 version and it is riddled with bugs/glitches. I was pretty let down this year.
