Madden '07 vs. Madden '08 (Wii)

I became a Nintendo Wii owner about two weeks ago and I'm loving it. I currently do not have a football and I am looking to get one. Would I be better served to get last year's Madden game or pay the extra money and just get this year's game?

Madden 08 is the way to go, online play, family play, updated rosters, more mini games plus it has all the new stuff ea added like gang tackles etc...

Is it based on next gen or current gen? My friend was asking if I heard anything about it and I haven't. If it's based off of old gen then I'd probably tell him to get it, but if it's next gen then forget it....Thanks in advance for any info...

Everything I have read is that it is based off the PS2, XBOX, GC versions. It is a pretty good game, I need to play at least 10-15 more games to know if it is the real deal.

I decided to purchase it b/c 360 is in the shop and I was craving some football and needed a reason to play the Wii. Not disappointed with the purchase so far, but in my opinion and after seeing metroid prime 3 in action, Wii is capable of much better presentation and graphics. I hope with madden 09 Wii they make the graphics at higher resolution and continue to refine the controls.
